Friday 20th November 2009 IoS Bird Reports

St. Mary’s – Yellow-browed Warbler & 2 Firecrests on Porth Hellick Loop trail, SABINES GULL over Hugh Town and then at Porthloo also 2nd winter Mediterranean Gull and 6 Black Redstarts there and 3 Black Redstarts at Longstone.

Tresco - 4 Spoonbills in Tresco Channel, Yellow-browed Warbler & Brambling on Abbey Drive, Long-tailed Duck & 1st winter Mediterranean Gull on Abbey Pool and Reed Bunting in bushes on south side of pool and 11 Whooper Swans on Great Pool. On the sea a Black-necked Grebe was off New Grimsby and 3 Great Northern Divers & a Red-breasted Merganser were off the east side.
