St. Mary’s – A Mediterranean Gull was at Porthloo. Annet – A Balearic Shearwater lingers a ¼ mile offshore for most of the day. At sea – The evening pelagic trip logged 30 European Storm-petrels, 3 Cory’s Shearwaters, 4 Great Skuas and 3 Blue Sharks’

St. Mary’s – 2 Green Sandpipers and a Common Sandpiper were on Porth Hellick Pool. Tresco – 2 Wood Sandpipers, 2 Greenshanks, 2 Sanderlings and 8 Crossbills. 300 + Manx Shearwaters were north of the island. Samson – The Ruddy Shelduck, a Common Gull and a Mediterranean Gull

Saturday 20th July 2013 IoS Bird Sightings

St. Mary’s – 2 Mediterranean Gulls were at Porthcressa and 2 Green Sandpipers, a Common Sandpiper & 5 Greenshanks were on Porth Hellick Pool. Tresco – 7 Greenshanks and 5 Little Egrets. St. Agnes – 2 Whimbrels, 5 Curlews and 4 Common Sandpipers.

St. Mary’s – 7 Crossbills were on the Garrison and 6 were at Longstone. The 2 Mediterranean Gulls were still at Porthloo, a Green Sandpiper was on Porth Hellick Pool and nearby the first returning Willow Warbler was was at higher Moors. St. Agnes – A Whimbrel and 2 Curlews
