We are all looking forward to welcoming birders back to the Isles of Scilly this year. We hope to see some familiar and some new faces out in the field.

  • The October Bird Log will be restarting this year after a two-year break due to Covid-19. It will run throughout October (1st-28th) in the Lyonnesse Bar, Scillonian Club, starting at 9pm. Thanks to everyone who has volunteered to call. The ISBG will have a stand three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, where you’ll be able to collect your copy of the Bird and Natural History Review 2021 (if you’re a member), join ISBG or buy a pin badge.
  • If you’re a paid-up member, you will receive your copy of the Bird and Natural History Review 2021 in the post direct from Swallowtail Press in September. You can renew your membership or join online or by post.
  • You can still submit your daily sightings and records to us through our Bird Log WhatsApp group (contact Lucy on 07532 344933 to be added – please note, this is not a bird news channel, but for counts of common species!).
  • The bird hides are open across the islands; please use responsibly and safely. We are hoping to open Farm Trails, too, and don’t forget that there are maps available here.

Please be kind and courteous to local businesses and support them where possible – staff have worked incredibly hard this year once again under stressful conditions. Let’s help their season to end on a high note!
