St. Mary’s  The Red-rumped Swallow was at Porth Hellick mid-morning and at Higher Moors in the evening.   St. Mary’s – A Red-rumped Swallow was found mid-afternoon in the Porth Hellick/ Higher Moors vicinity was seen several times before the last sighting in the evening at Trewince.   St. Mary’s – A cracking full-summer islandica Black-tailed Godwit was on Porth Hellick Pool, also seen there were a Tufted Duck, a Common Sandpiper and a Common Swift. Tresco – A Treecreeper (a very rare bird on Scilly) was in the Abbey Gardens and an Iceland Gull was on the Heliport. Bryher – A Ring Ouzel and a Hooded Crow.

The only reports on a wet and windy day were: St. Martin’s – A GLOSSY IBIS was on a roadside puddle bear the reading room. St. Mary’s – A Hooded Crow flew over Longstone late evening

St. Mary’s – A Merlin & a Yellow Wagtail were at Porth Hellick and a Cuckoo was at Porthloo Bryher- A Red-throated Pipit was in fields above Popplestone Bay, also a Yellow Wagtail was on the island. St. Agnes – A Yellow Wagtail was on the Big Pool, it showed characteristics of the Ashy-headed race but was thought to probably to be an intergrade. Read more…

St. Mary’s – A Common Sandpiper was at Porth Hellick Pool, a Merlin flew over Porth Hellick Down, a Cuckoo was on Peninnis and a Tree Pipitwas at Bant’s Carn. 3 Great Northern Divers and 4 Manx Shearwaters were in The Roads. Tresco – 2 Black-tailed Godwits and a Cuckoo. St. Agnes – A Lesser Whitethroat.

St. Mary’s – The Spotted Crake was still in Lower Moors, also there were 2 Sedge Warblers and the first reported Reed Warbler of the year. ARing Ouzel and a Cuckoo were on the east side of Peninnis. Tresco – A Common Swift and a Grasshopper Warbler.

St. Mary’s – The Woodchat Shrike was still in fields between Longstone Lane and Parting Carn Farm. A Marsh Harrier flew over Higher Moors, 2 Ring Ouzels were in fields below the golf course, 4 White Wagtails were on the airfield and single Cuckoos were on Peninnis and at Porthloo, Read more…
