St. Mary’s  The Red-rumped Swallow was at Porth Hellick mid-morning and at Higher Moors in the evening. Sunday 27th April 2014 IoS Bird Sightings

  St. Mary’s – A cracking full-summer islandica Black-tailed Godwit was on Porth Hellick Pool, also seen there were a Tufted Duck, a Common Sandpiper and a Common Swift. Tresco – A Treecreeper (a very rare bird on Scilly) was in the Abbey Gardens and an Iceland Gull was on the Heliport. Bryher – A Ring Ouzel and a Hooded Crow.

Thursday 24th April 2014 IoS Bird Sightings

St. Mary’s – A Common Sandpiper was at Porth Hellick Pool, a Merlin flew over Porth Hellick Down, a Cuckoo was on Peninnis and a Tree Pipitwas at Bant’s Carn. 3 Great Northern Divers and 4 Manx Shearwaters were in The Roads. Tresco – 2 Black-tailed Godwits and a Cuckoo. St. Agnes – A Lesser Whitethroat.
