Discover the beautiful Isles of Scilly with resident ornithologist and naturalist Will Wagstaff. Watch the passage of migrant birds; learn about the interesting local history and beautiful flora and fauna as you walk the coasts and trails. If you’re visiting the islands for the first time and would like to discover some top birding spots with invaluable local knowledge, then this is the perfect company for you.

Will visits each of the inhabited islands weather and tides permitting. The walking is at a relaxed pace along the coastal paths and inland trails, stopping at the local pubs and cafes for lunch and afternoon tea (cost of this not included). The itinerary varies from week to week, but tours usually leave from either St. Mary’s quay or the Porthcressa Bank every weekday morning at 9:45, between March and October. For a full day guided walk the charge is just £14.00. For off-island tours, the boat fare needs to be added. Half-day tours are available at £7.00 per head (please call for group rates.) The St. Mary’s Boatmen’s Association is used for all off-island excursions; boat tickets are available from Will on the quay on the day of the tour.

There is no need to book in advance unless the reservation is for parties of 8 or more. Just meet on the quay to the left of the Association ticket kiosk where you will see the Island Wildlife Tours board advertising details of that day’s tour. For daily itinerary see the board on the quay, Saturday’s Slideshow or telephone 01720 422212.
