Friday 16th and Saturday 17th September 2016 IoS Bird Sightings

Friday’s birds were: St. Mary’s – The Buff-breasted Sandpiper, the Dotterel and 2 Golden Plovers were still on the Airfield. 2 Red-backed Shrikes, a Common Rosefinch, a Wryneck and 2 Whinchats were on Peninnis. Thursday 15th September 2016 IoS Bird Sightings

Thursday’s birds were: St. Mary’s – The Red-backed Shrike, 2 Wrynecks, the Common Rosefinch and the Lapland Bunting were all still on Peninnis. Wednesday’s birds were: St. Mary’s – The Lesser Yellowlegs, the Temminck’s Stint, 4 Dunlins and a Common Sandpiper were all on Porth Hellick Pool. Saturday’s birds were: St. Mary’s – A Lesser Yellowlegs flew over Deep Point and landed at Porth Hellick Pool, where the Temminck’s Stint was also still present.
