St. Mary’s – The Woodchat Shrike was still at Helvear. Samson – 4 Little Terns on Samson flats. At sea– A pelagic 4.5 miles southeast of St. Mary’s produced 5 Cory’s, 7 Great, 3 Sooty & 15 Manx Shearwaters, 2 Great Skuas and 30 European Storm Petrels.
St. Mary’s – The juvenile Woodchat Shrike was still at Helvear and a Sooty Shearwater flew past Deep Point. 6 Greenshank, 2 Green Sandpipers, a Common Sandpiper, 12 Ringed Plovers, a Kestrel and 3 Ravens were all at Porth Hellick. St. Mary’s – A juvenile Woodchat Shrike was at Helvear Farm and 8 Green Sandpipers were on Porth Hellick Pool. St. Agnes – 2 Yellow-legged Gulls, a third-summer bird at Porth Killier and a juvenile on the Big Pool.
St. Mary’s – A Hobby over Higher Moors and 2 Wheatears at the airport. Between higher Moors and Porth Hellick there were 30 Willow Warblers, 6 Chiffchaffs, a Common Whitethroat and a Pied Flycatcher. On the Pool at Porth Hellick were 2 Green Sandpipers. At sea – Birders on a Read more…
At Sea – 5 Great Shearwaters, a Balearic Shearwater, a Great Skua and 20 European Storm-petrels on a short range pelagic 4.5 miles southeast of St. Mary’s.
St. Mary’s – The old record for Mediterranean Gulls together on Scilly lasted just 1 day! There were 14 (11 juveniles, a second-winter & 2 adults) at Porthloo. A Common Buzzard, 2 Peregrines, 2 Ravens & 6 Greenshank were at Porth Hellick and 2 Wheatears were on Peninnis. St. Agnes Read more…
