American Herring Gull, Morning Point, (Kris Webb)

St. Mary’s – A possible second-winter American Herring Gull was off Morning Point on the Garrison. (More photos available on http://scillyspider.blogspot.co.uk/), opinions please! Also on the gull front the 3rd winter Iceland Gull and a 2nd winter Yellow-legged Gull were on Porth Mellon Beach. 15 Redwings were at Carn Friars.

St. Martin’s – 8 Grey Plovers were on rocks offshore.

Inter-island waters – 27 Common Scoters, part of the flock wintering on the islands, were near the Eastern Isles
