Highlights from Tuesdays bird log include:

Hume’s Leaf Warbler – 1 still in the dump clump

Solitary Sandpiper – Yesterday’s bird was relocated on a muddy pool in a field on Old Town Lane.

Blackpoll Warbler – 1 was still on Bryher.

Olive-backed Pipit – 1 was found at Little Arthur Farm, St. Martin’s.

American Golden Plover – 1 was on Porth Hellick Down and the airfield.

Ring-necked Duck – A first-winter male and 2 females were on the sea at Porthloo and then flew to Lower Moors before moving to Porth Hellick Pool.

Highlights from Mondays bird log include:

Hume’s Leaf Warbler – 1 was found in the dump clump, proving very difficult to see, but calling diagnostically. This was only the 3rd record for Silly the last one being in November 2002.

Solitary Sandpiper – What was almost certainly the Bryher bird was seen briefly at Lower Moors, before flying off south.

Blackpoll Warbler – 1 was still on Bryher and showing intermittently but well at times.

American Golden Plover – 1 was on Porth Hellick beach.

Short-toed Lark – 1 was found at Carn Friars.

Coal Tit – 2 Lower Moors, 3 on Bryher, 3 on Tresco, 3 on St. Agnes and 1 on Gugh.

Highlights for Sunday on the Islands include:

Solitary Sandpiper – One was still on Bryher.

Blackpoll Warbler – It finally gave itself up and was seen by most birders that went to Bryher.

American Golden Plover – 1 was Still commuting between Porth Hellick beach and the airfield.

Little Bunting 1 was seen briefly at Porth Minnick. (more…)

Blackpoll Warbler – After not being seen on Friday, it showed again briefly mid-morning but only to a lucky few.

Richard's Pipit, Peninnis, 09.10.12, Martin Goodey

Highlights from Tuesday’s log include:

American Buff-bellied Pipit – One was seen on Peninnis and another was on Bryher (possibly three birds involved in all sightings!)

American Golden Plover – 1 was the airfield then flew to St. Agnes and then later returned to the airfield. (more…)

Grey-cheeked Thrush – 1 was still on St. Agnes .

American Buff-bellied Pipit – Today it was seen on Peninnis.

American Golden Plover – 1 was on Periglis Beach, St. Agnes before flying to the airfield on St. Mary’s.

American Buff-bellied Pipit – today it was fairly mobile and was seen on Peninnis. the airfield and Porth Hellick Down.

Buff-breasted Sandpiper – 1 still present commuting between the airfield and Peninnis.

Red-throated Pipit – 1 was reported on St. Martin’s cricket pitch.
