Firecrest – 2 in Lower Moors at the Rosehill end.

Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 in Lower Moors at the Rosehill end.

Wigeon – 1 0n Shooters’ Pool.

Kingfisher – 1 in Old Town Bay.

Merlin – 1 over the Sunnyside Farm Trail.

Swallow – 2 late birds at Carn Gwaval.

Brambling – 1 at Longstone, 1 in the field on Telegraph Road, opposite the Trewince Turning and 2 on Pungies Lane.

Siskin – 2 flew over Lower Moors.

Monday (13/11)

Cape May Warbler – The first-winter female was still feeding in bushes and on rocks in Green Bay Beach, below the track to Veronica Farm, Bryher.

Waxwing – 1 was on Abbey Drive, Tresco and 1 at the north end of Watch Hill, Bryher.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1still in bushes on Higher Moors just north of the road.

Swallow – 1 over Hugh Town.

Little Egret – 1 at Pelistry Bay and 1 at Porthloo.

Grey Plover – 1 on the beach at Green Bay, Bryher.

Whimbrel– 1 at Pelistry Bay

Merlin – 1 over Sunnyside Farm fields.

Grey Wagtail – 1 on Watermill Beach and 2 with chickens at Parting Carn.

Reed Bunting – 1 at the south end of the Dump Clump.

Tuesday (14/11)

Cape May Warbler – The first-winter female was still feeding in bushes and on rocks in Green Bay Beach, below the track to Veronica Farm, Bryher.

Bullfinch – 1 flew from Well Cover, Tresco. This is a scarce bird on Scilly.

Wigeon – 4 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Pochard – 2 on Abbey Pool and 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Jack Snipe – 1 Higher moors just north of the road.

Swallow – 1 at Little Porth.

Firecrest – 1 at Tremelethen Farm,

Great Spotted Woodpecker – 1 calling from Well Cover, Tresco.

Grey Wagtail – 1 at Little Porth and 1 at Higher Moors.

Wednesday (15/11)

Cape May Warbler – The first-winter female was still feeding in bushes and on rocks in Green Bay Beach, below the track to Veronica Farm, Bryher.

Surf Scoter – 1 in Great Bay, Bryher/

Short-eared Owl – 1 hunting over Carn Friars and Salakee Farm fields and 1 on St. Helen’s.

Spoonbill – 2 on Samson.

Little Egret – 2 on Bryher Pool and 1 Porthloo.

Golden Plover – 1 flew south over Bryher Campsite.

Waxwing – 4 on Timmy’s Hill, Bryher.

Ring Ouzel – A male on the path to Bryher Campsite.

Redwing – 100+ on Bryher.

Fieldfare – 6+ on Bryher.

Whinchat – A very late bird was in the field adjacent to the Mainland Marketing shed below the airport.

Swallow –3 flew south over the road at Higher Moors and 2 over Bryher Pool.

White Wagtail – 1 at Longstone.

Humpback Whale – 2 (a mother & calf?) near Spanish Ledge off Peninnis.

Thursday (16/11)

Cape May Warbler – The first-winter female was still feeding in bushes and on rocks along Green Bay Beach, Bryher.

Short-eared Owl – 1 hunting over Higher Moors and later 2 together hunting over the horse paddocks on Carn Friars Farm (photo).

Wigeon – A drake on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Pochard – A drake on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Jack Snipe – 2 in the Standing Stones Field.

Sanderling – 100+ on Porthloo Beach.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 2 on Porthloo Beach.

Merlin – 1 on Bryher.

Kingfisher – 1 Lower Moors Pool.

Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 near the Stephen Sussex hide at Lower Moors,

Black Redstart – 1 in the Chaplaincy area Church Road, Hugh Town.

Grey Wagtail – 1in the Standing Stones Field.

Fin Whale – 3 distant spouts seen from Giant’s Castle, were thought to be this species from the shape of the blow.

Friday (17/11)

Cape May Warbler – The first-winter female was still feeding in bushes and on rocks along Green Bay Beach, Bryher.

Marsh Harrier – 1 at Lawrance’s Bay, St. Martin’s.

Woodcock – 2 flushed from the path from Porth Hellick to Salakee.

Purple Sandpiper – 1 on Peninnis just west of Pulpit Rock.

Sanderling – 80+ on Porthloo Beach.

Dunlin – 4 on Porthloo Beach.

Swallow – 3 at Little Porth.

Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 still at Porth Hellick.
