Wilson’s Storm-petrel – 1 on an evening pelagic on 18th and 12 seen on 30th from a boat 3 miles south of St. Agnes.
European Storm-petrel – c 60 on an evening pelagic on 15th, about 30 on an evening pelagic on 18th and 7 seen on 30th from a boat 3 miles south of St. Agnes.
Manx Shearwater – c 200 on an evening pelagic on 15th.
Great Shearwater – 3 on an evening pelagic on 18th and 1 seen on 30th from a boat 3 miles south of St. Agnes.
Sooty Shearwater – 1 on 22nd, seen in Scilly Waters from the Scillonian III and 1 flew west past Deep Point on 24th.
Honey Buzzard – 0n 21st 1 flew south over Lower Moors. then over Hugh Town, then towards Samson and Bryher and was last seen been mobbed by crows over the Creeb.
Osprey – 1 over Samson on 13th.
Shoveler – A female and 6 young were on Abbey Pool, Tresco. This is the first breeding record since the 70’s.
Yellow-legged Gull – An adult was on Teän on 9th.
Mediterranean Gull – 3 adults on Samsom on 13th, 2 in Tresco Channel on 15th, 1 om the Great Pool, Tresco on 21st, 2 near Samson on 21st, 6 in Tresco Channel on 22nd, 1 on Gleaner Beach & 4 on Stony Island on 23rd, 30 near Samson on 28th and 4 around Great Cheese Rock, Tresco on 29th.
Arctic skua – 1 off Tresco on 2nd.
Great Skua – 1 on an evening pelagic on 15th.
Arctic Tern – 1 on an evening pelagic on 18th.
Common Tern – 2 on Annet on 7th, 1 in Crow Sound on 13th, 1 at High Town, St. Martin’s on 15th, 2 off Bryher on 18th, 3 on Spencer’s Buoy on 18th, 2 on Annet on 21st, 8 on Annet on 23rd, 6 Western Rocks and 4 Annet on 24th and 3 near Samson on 28th.
Puffin – A leucistic bird was off Annet.
Golden Plover – 1 on Bryher on the Airfield & later on the Airfield 8th,1 over Telegraph Road & 1 still on the Airfield on 11th and 1 on the Western Rocks on 24th.
Bar-tailed Godwit – 1 on Teän on 7th and 1 Porth Hellick on 14th & 15th.
Whimbrel – 2 on Teän on 7th, 1 on Samson on 13th, 2 at Browarth, St. Agnes & 3 over Bryher on 18th, 8 on Samson on 21st and 3 Teän on 29th .
Quail – 1 at Horse Point, St. Agnes on 14th, 1 flushed from the main path to hides at Porth Hellick on 15th, 1 in private fields on St. Agnes on 16th and 17th. 1 Porth Hellick Down on 22nd, 1 at Longstone on 23rd, 1 on the coastal path near Camel Rock, Porth Hellick Bay and 1 Porth Killier, St. Agnes on 25th.
Cuckoo – 1 calling near Pentle House, Tresco on 24th.
Marsh Harrier – On 23rd 1 circled low over Salakee Farm and then on to Tremelethen and on to Lower Moors.
Hobby – 1 sat on the airfield runway on 14th, 1 over the Mermaid Inn, Hugh town o 15th, 1 flew east over the Garrison, on 20th. On 21st singles were seen over 1 Annet, over Old Town Bay, over Longstone and Bryher.
Swift – 2 over Tresco on 9th, 2 over the airfield on 14th, 4 over Deep Point on 21st, 13 over St. Agnes, 4 over Tresco & 1 over St. Martin’s on 21st, 2 over the Airfield & 2 seen from the Scillonian on 22nd, 2 Peninnis, 3 Porth Hellick and 3 Abbey Farm. Tresco on 25th.
Tree Pipit – 1 on Tresco on 4th.
Mistle Thrush – 1 Content Farm on 24th.
Wheatear – A late (or early?) bird at Deep Point on 11th and another at Giant’s Castle on 13th.
Spotted Flycatcher – 2 adults at Longstone on 14th and 1 at Old Grimsby, Tresco on 23rd.
Yellow Wagtail – 1 flew from Simpson’s Field over the Great Pool, Tresco on 15th and 1 flew over St. Agnes cricket pitch on 18th.
Redpoll – 1 at Porth Hellick on 14th.
Risso’s Dolphin –1 near the Western Rocks on 24th
Short-beaked Common Dolphin – 6 on an evening pelagic on 18th and 50+ near the Western Rocks on 24th.
