Pink-footed Goose – 10 on Tommy’s Hill, Tresco.

Common Scoter – 5 in Crow Sound.

Red-throated Diver – 1 close to the Eastern Isles.

Sandwich Tern – 4 on Hats Buoy in Crow Sound.

House Martin – 1 behind the pumping station at Higher Moors.

White Wagtail – 3 on Porth Hellick Beach.

Sunday (19/03)

Alpine Swift – 1 flew low over Holy Vale.

Richard’s Pipit – 1 on the airfield between the terminal building and the northern runway (photo).

Cattle Egret – 8 on Tresco and what was probably 2 of these were at Trewince.

Spoonbill – 1 flew over Hugh Town.

Pintail – A drake on Porth Hellick Pool (photo).

Pochard – 6 on Tresco

Red-throated Diver – 1 still off the Eastern Isles.

Common Gull – 1 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Yellow-legged Gull – 2 on South Beach, Tresco.

Sandwich Tern – 3 still on Hats Buoy in Crow Sound.

Short-eared Owl – The corpse of a long dead bird was found on Tresco.

Common Buzzard – 1 flew low southeast over Longstone Café.

Great Spotted Woodpecker – 1 calling near Porth Hellick House.

House Martin – 1 feeding around Helvear, 1 over Rocky Hill, 2 at Jac-a-ba and 3 on Tresco.

White Wagtail – 8over Longstone.

Monday (20/03)

Cattle Egret – 1 still in the field west of Longstone Bungalow.

Whimbrel – 1 Bant’s Carn.

Sandwich Tern – 1 of St. Martin’s Flats.

House Martin – 2 MacFarland’s Down.

Black Redstart – 1 MacFarland’s Down,

Tuesday (21/03)

Purple Heron – 1 seen in flight and then landed on the Eastern Isles.

Cattle Egret – 1 still in the field west of Longstone Bungalow.

Pink-footed Goose – 10 still on Tresco.

Golden Plover – 3 on the airfield.

Whimbrel – 1 on the coastal path below Carn Vean.

Common Buzzard – 1 over Holy Vale.

Merlin – An adult male flew over Parting Carn.

Cetti’s Warbler – 1 calling near the Dump Clump.

Skylark – 3 on the airfield.

Wednesday (22/03)

Richard’s Pipit – 1 still on the airfield southeast of the terminal building.

Cattle Egret – 5 in fields opposite Longstone Café and 1 with the cattle at Trewince.

Common Buzzard – 1 seen over several locations on St. Mary’s. From plumage details it was seen to be a different individual to the one seen in the last few days.

Great Spotted Woodpecker – 1 calling at Longstone early mprming.

Thursday (23/03)

***LESSER KESTREL*** – An adult male was seen briefly in the late morning near the clubhouse on the golf course before been relocated on the western side of Peninnis mid-afternoon (photo). It performed magnificently for the dozen or so local birders giving views down to 20 feet. This is the fourth record for Scilly the last one been as recent as Mar 2020 which stayed into May. Let’s hope this one does the same.

Cattle Egret – 1 over Longstone and 7 at Trewince.

Little Egret – 1 in Porth Hellick Bay.

Pink-footed Goose – 6 in a field off Racket Lane, Tresco.

Yellow-legged Gull – A second-winter bird was on the Golf Course.

Friday (24/03)

Lesser Kestrel – Seen again mid-morning on the west side of Peninnis and later seen at Porth Hellick Down, Carn Friars and at Porth Minnick before returning to Peninnis.

Richard’s Pipit – 1 still on the airfield southeast of the terminal building.

Cattle Egret – 2 flew southwest from Longstone.
