Purple Heron – A juvenile flew from Porth Hellick Pool towards Holy Vale.

Wood Sandpiper – 1 still on the Lower Moors Pool.

Common Sandpiper – 1 on St. Agnes.

Common Gull  – 1 off South Beach, Tresco.

Mediterranean Gull – 1 on St. Agnes.

Yellow-legged Gull – A juvenile was in a gull roost off Bathinghouse Porth, Treco.

Great Skua – 1 flew west past Giant’s Castle.

Wilson’s Storm-petrel – 5 on the evening pelagic trip 7 miles south of St. Mary’s.

European Storm-petrel – 20 on the evening pelagic trip 7 miles south of St. Mary’s and 44 trapped, and ringed at Deep Point on Tuesday night/Wednesday Morning. 1 of these birds that was ringed at midnight  was retrapped at midnight next day at Portland, a distance of 175 miles.

Manx Shearwater  – 200+ on the evening pelagic trip 7 miles south of St. Mary’s.

Whimbrel – 7 on the south beaches on Tresco.

Short-eared Owl – 1 hunting in fields next to Pool Green, St. Martin’s, has apparently been around for 3 or 4 days.

Short-beaked Common Dolphin – 10 on the evening pelagic trip 7 miles south of St. Mary’s

Blue Shark – 8 on the evening pelagic trip 7 miles south of St. Mary’s, 3 of which were caught, tagged and released.

Thursday (23/07)

LEATHERBACK TURTLE – 1  was just outside the Gilstone, Old Town Bay. This is the first record since 9th June 2018, when one was released from some old fishing net 7 miles north of St. Mary’s.

Wood Sandpiper – 2 on Porth Hellick Pool and 1 still on the Lower Moors Pool.

Green Sandpiper – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool and 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Common Sandpiper – 3 on the Big Pool, St. Agnes.

Whimbrel  – 2 were on Gorregan, Western Rocks.

Little Egret  – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Water Rail – A juvenile was on Porth Hellick Pool.

Pochard  – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Common Swift – 2 over Porth Hellick.

Crossbill  – 1 around the house “Bishop’s View” on Porthloo Lane.

Friday (24/07)

Lapwing –1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Wood Sandpiper – 2 possibly 3 on Porth Hellick Pool and 1 still on the Lower Moors Pool.

Green Sandpiper –2 on the Great Pool, Tresco and 1 on the Lower Moors Pool.

Common Sandpiper – 4 on Porth Hellick Beach,  1 on the Lower Moors Pool and 1 on St. Agnes.

Whimbrel  – 1 on St. Agnes.

Mediterranean Gull  – 1 on St. Agnes.

Common Swift – 2 over Longstone.

Saturday (25/07)

Purple Heron  – A juvenile landed briefly on Lower Moors Pool before flying off north.

Sooty Shearwater – 1 flew west past the northern end of Tresco.

Lapwing  – 1 still on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Wood Sandpiper  – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool and 1 on Lower Moors Pool.

Green Sandpiper  – 1 on Lower Moors Pool and 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Common Sandpiper  – 3 on St. Agnes.

Whimbrel  – 12 on St. Agnes.

Pochard  – 2 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Mediterranean Gull  – A first-summer bird was on St. Agnes.

Common Swift – 4 over Porth Hellick Pool.

Sunday (26/07)

Purple Heron – In the evening 1 was flushed from a ditch in Lower Moors.

Lapwing  – 1 still on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Wood Sandpiper  – 1 still on Porth Hellick Pool and 1 still on Lower Moors Pool.

Green Sandpiper  – 1 still on Lower Moors Pool and 1 still on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Monday (27/07)

Purple Heron – 1  in the Lower Moors area (photo).

Pochard – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Little Grebe – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Lapwing – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Wood Sandpiper  – 1 still on Porth Hellick Pool and 1 still on Lower Moors Pool.

Green Sandpiper  – 1 still on Lower Moors Pool.

Kingfisher – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Purple Heron – Again juvenile was showing on and off in the Lower Moors area.

Wilson’s Storm-petrel – c20 on the evening pelagic trip , 5 miles south of St. Mary’s.

European Storm-petrel – 20 on the evening pelagic trip , 5 miles south of St. Mary’s.

Cory’s Shearwater – 14 on the evening pelagic trip , 5 miles south of St. Mary’s.

Great Shearwater – 10 on the evening pelagic trip , 5 miles south of St. Mary’s.

Sooty Shearwater –5 on the evening pelagic trip , 5 miles south of St. Mary’s.

Manx Shearwater  – 800+ on the evening pelagic trip , 5 miles south of St. Mary’s.

Great Skua Sandpiper 1 on the evening pelagic trip 5 miles south of St. Mary’s.

Arctic Skua – 1 on the evening pelagic trip 5 miles south of St. Mary’s.
