Wilson’s Storm-petrel – 15 on the evening pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

European Storm-petrel – 25 on the evening pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of Bishop Rock and 1 seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian II on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

Cory’s Shearwater –  The first of the year was 1 on the evening pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

Great Shearwater –  1  on the evening pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of Bishop Rock. 

Sooty Shearwater –  1  on the evening pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of Bishop Rock and 1 seen in Scilly waters from the Scillonian II on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

Pochard – 5 on Abbey Pool, Tresco

Little Egret – 3 on Abbey Pool, Tresco

Yellow-legged Gull – 2 on Abbey Pool. Tresco.

Mediterranean Gull – 1  on the evening pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of Bishop Rock, 60+ om Samson and 10+ in Pentle Bay, Tresco.

Sandwich Tern – 36 off Tresco.

Green Sandpiper – 2 on Abbey Pool, Tresco

Common Sandpiper – 10 on Porthloo Beach, 1 on St. Agnes and 1 on Abbey Pool, Tresco

Whimbrel – 30 on Samson and 1 on St. Agnes.

Dark Green Fritillary – 1 on Buddleia in a Hugh Town Garden, this was only the second record for Scilly

Short-beaked Common Dolphin – 10 on an evening pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of the Bishop Rock.

Atlantic Bluefin Tuna – 1 on an evening pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of the Bishop Rock.

Ocean Sunfish – 1 on an evening pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of the Bishop Rock.

Blue Shark – 2 caught, tagged and released on an evening pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of the Bishop Rock.

Friday (17/07)

Mediterranean Gull – 11 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Little Grebe – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Little Egret – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Hobby  – 1 quartering over the middle of Tresco.

Lapwing – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Ruff – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Knot – 1 on Samson flew towards St, Mary’s.

Green Sandpiper – 2 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Common Sandpiper – 3 on Porthloo Beach and 2 at Browarth, St. Agnes.

Whimbrel – 1 at Browarth, St. Agnes and on the shore between Woolpack  and Morning Point, Garrison.

Kingfisher  – The first of the autumn was 1 on Lower Moors Pool.

Common Swift – 5 over the Great Pool, Tresco.

Saturday (18/07)

Little Grebe – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Mediterranean Gull – 6 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Yellow-legged Gull – 1 in  q garden on the Garrison.

Lapwing – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Green Sandpiper – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Common Sandpiper – 2 Old Town Bay.

Ruff – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Black-tailed Godwit – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Merlin – 1 landed on a washing line in an Old Town garden.

Common Swift –  2 at Telegraph and 3 over the Great Pool, Tresco.

Sunday (19/07)

Sooty Shearwater –   1 flew west past Peninnis.

Hobby – 1 near the church on Bryher.

Monday (20/07)

Wilson’s Storm-petrel – 12 on the evening pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

European Storm-petrel –  25 on the evening pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.  44 trapped, and ringed at Deep Point on Sunday night/Monday Morning.

Great Shearwater – 1 on the evening pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

Manx Shearwater – 200+ on the evening pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

Yellow-legged Gull – A juvenile on the Big Pool, St. Agnes.

Wood Sandpiper – 1 on the pool in the Standing Stones Field and then flew to the Lower Moors Pool (photo), it or another was also seen on Porth Hellick Pool.

Green Sandpiper – 1 on  Porth Hellick Pool.

Cuckoo –  A juvenile was between Porth Hellick and Salakee Down.

Short-beaked Common Dolphin –  6 on an evening pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of the Bishop Rock.

Harbour Porpoise – 10 on an evening pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of the Bishop Rock.

Atlantic Bluefin Tuna – 20 on an evening pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of the Bishop Rock.

Blue Shark – 2 caught, tagged and released on an evening pelagic trip 3.5 miles southwest of the Bishop Rock

Tuesday (21/07)

Lapwing – 1 still on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Wood Sandpiper – 1 still on the Lower Moors Pool.

Green Sandpiper – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Common Sandpiper – 2 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Whimbrel – 2 on St. Agnes.

Little Egret – 4 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Pochard – 5 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Shelduck – A pair with 4 young on the east side of Samson (photo).
