Cattle Egret – At least 4 at Trewince and 2 on Tresco.

Pink-footed Goose – 10 flew west over St. Nicholas Church, Tresco.

Shelduck – 2 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Shoveler – 7 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Pochard – 5 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Sandwich Tern – 3 in Porth Cressa and 1 flew west past Peninnis.

Merlin – 1 over New Grimsby.

Jackdaw – 2 around Hugh Town also seen elsewhere around St. Mary’s and these or 2 others on Tresco, this a scarce species on Scilly.

Raven – 1 over New Grimsby.

White Wagtail – 3 on Porth Cressa Beach.

Grey Wagtail – 1 on Porth Cressa Beach.

Sunday (12/03)

Richard’s Pipit – 1 still on the airfield, between the terminal building and the northern runway.

Cattle Egret – 5 in a field west of Longstone Bungalow and 1 opposite Sunnyside.

Jackdaw – 1 still around Hugh Town.

Great Northern Diver – 1 in Porth Cressa Bay.

Purple Sandpiper – 4 landed on Carrickstarne of Pulpit Rock, Peninnis.

Mediterranean Gull – 10 in Porth Cressa Bay.

Monday (13/03)

Cattle Egret – 5 in the large field opposite Sunnyside.

Pintail – A drake on Porth Hellick Pool.

Golden Plover – 1 flew over Sallyport.

House Martin – The first of the year was 1 hawking over Sallyport.

White Wagtail – 1 in the large field opposite Sunnyside.

Tuesday (14/03)

Cattle Egret – 5 in a field west of Longstone and 3 opposite Sunnyside.

Pintail – The drake was still on Porth Hellick Pool.

Great Northern Diver – 1 still in Porth Cressa Bay.

Common Gull – 1 in Porth Cressa Bay.

Sandwich Tern – 2 in Porth Cressa Bay.

Wednesday (15/03)

Cattle Egret – 7 in a field west of Longstone and 1 at Parting Carn.

Sandwich Tern – 1 in Porth Cressa Bay.

Golden Plover – 1 flew over Porth Hellick.

White Wagtail – 1 in the chicken field by Tremelethen Trail.

Thursday (16/03)

Cattle Egret – At least 4 in a field west of Longstone.

Black Redstart – 2 at Porthloo (photo).

Friday (17/03)

Cattle Egret – Still 4 in a field west of Longstone and 2 at Salakee Farm.

Golden Plover – 7 flew southwest over King Edward’s Road, Peninnis.

Woodcock – 1 in a field opposite Airport Lane.

Swallow – The first of the year was one over Holy Vale.
