Bryher – The Great Blue Heron was seen on the Big Pool at first light and then not seen again until late morning when it was found at Popplestone Bay, it then moved back to the Big Pool were it spent the rest of the day. Also seen were a Wryneck, a male Golden Oriole, 2 Common Sandpipers, 3 Tree Pipits, a Ring Ouzel, a male Whinchat and 2 Grasshopper Warblers.

St. Agnes – A Short-toed Lark, a cracking male Blue-headed Wagtail, a Common Redstart, 2 Black Redstarts, a Ring Ouzel and 15 Whimbrels.

St. Mary’s – 6 Bar-tailed Godwits & 2 Common Sandpipers were at Porthloo and 4 Common Sandpipers were at Porth Hellick. A male Golden Oriole was at Porth Hellick & a female type was in Lower Moors, a Hooded Crow was on Porth Hellick Beach, a Ring Ouzel was on the Golf Course, a Redwing was in Holy Vale and a Hawfinch was in a garden at MacFarland’s Down.

Tresco – The Black Duck and 2 Ring Ouzels.

At sea – On the morning Scillonian crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s 4 Great Skuas were seen. A Hoopoe flew past the ship at 11:00 a.m. so should have been within Scillonian waters.
