St. Mary’s – A drake Pintail was on Porth Hellick Pool and another was at Lower Moors. There were at least half a dozen Ring Ouzels, plenty of alba Wagtails, Wheatears, Black Redstarts, Chiffchaffs and a few Willow Warblers on the island. The star bird of the day was a drake Goosander ( a very scarce bird on Scilly), initially in Porth Mellon, then on the sea below Tregarthen’s Hotel and finally settling in Porthcressa
