Red-throated Pipit, Martin Goodey

St. Mary’s – A summer plumage Red-throated Pipit and a Melodious Warbler were in fields along Carn Friars Farm Trail. An Osprey flew high over the Golf Course and the Red Kite was around the north end of the island. A Golden Oriole was at Carn Friars another was on Pungie’s Lane, one was on Porth Hellick Loop, one was at junction of Porthloo Lane and Telegraph Road and 2 more were at Giants Castle. A Woodchat Shrike was on Porthloo lane and further along the lane a Short-toed Lark was at the Telegraph Road junction. A Little Bunting was in a chicken field on the Garrison, a Hawfinch flew over the Dump Clump towards Hugh Town and Turtle Dove was in Old Town Churchyard. Both the Eider at Pendrethen and the Pink-footed Goose at Salakee were still present.

Tresco – A Purple Heron and a Woodchat Shrike.

St. Martin’s – The Red Kite made a brief visit. Also on the island were 2 Golden Orioles, 8 Sanderlings and 4 Common Scoters were off Higher Town Quay.

St. Agnes – 3 Spotted Flycatchers and 13 Sanderlings.

Western Isles – A Great Northern Diver.
