All islands A phenomenal days birding with many hundreds of migrants on the islands. Large numbers of Blackcap, Willow Warbler and Wheatear being particularly notable. Grasshopper Warbler reached record peaks with twenty four being seen and heard on Bryher alone. The first Spotted Flycatcher of the year was on Tresco along with Yellow Wagtail, Black-tailed Godwit, Green Sandpiper and two Short-eared Owls. A 1st year Glaucous Gull flew from Bryher north up Tresco Channel in mid morning. The Rook was again on St Mary’s, this time on the airport. Many Common Redstarts were also noted and the first Whinchat of the year was on Lower Moors.
