St Mary’s – The two Rooks appeared again, this time at Porth Loo with two Jackdaws. Grasshopper Warblers were heard earlier in the day near Porth Loo Duck pond and along Old Town Lane. Surprise of the day was the Pink-footed Goose at Porth Hellick

Tresco – In the bright sunny weather this morning good numbers of hirundines were over Middle Down along with the two Common Buzzards . The three Tufted Ducks were still on the Great Pool as was a Black-headed Gull and three Redshanks later in the day. A Grasshopper Warbler was reeling near the Pool Road and a Cuckoo was singing near Rowesfield at lunchtime. The Redwing seen at Old Grimsby later in the afternoon was more in keeping with the return of the winter weather!
