Saturday – nothing to report due to inclement weather

Sunday 19th

St. Mary’s -A Great Spotted Woodpecker was at Salakee, a Kingfisher was in Lower Moors and the first-winter drake Eider was at Porth Mellon.

Tresco – A Yellow-browed Warbler, a Firecrest, a Jack Snipe, a Scaup and 2 Long-tailed Ducks.

Monday 20th

St. Mary’s – A Firecrest, a Jack Snipe and a Kingfisher were in Lower Moors.

St. Agnes – A first-winter Yellow-legged Gull on Periglis Beach

Tuesday 21st

St. Mary’s – A Spoonbill was in Porthcressa Bay, a second-winter Iceland Gull was on the dump, 3 Whimbrel and  7 Brent Geese (6 dark-bellied & 1 pale-bellied) were at Pendrethen and Red-necked Grebe (a scarce bird on Scilly) was off Innisidgen

Wednesday 22nd

St. Mary’s – On a very wet and windy day the only reports were of Jack Snipe, 3 at Lower Moors and 1 at Porth Hellick

Thursday 23rd

St. Mary’s – Again a poor day weather-wise, thick fog all day, just the Blue-winged Teal and a Short-eared Owl in Lower Moors

Friday 24th

St. Mary’s – The Blue-winged Teal, a Jack Snipe, a Short-eared Owl, a Firecrest and 12 Redwings were all at Lower Moors. A second-winter Iceland Gull and a first-winter Yellow-legged Gull were on the municipal tip.

Saturday 25th

St. Mary’s – A Wilson’s Snipe (perhaps the bird last seen on December 24) was in Lower Moors, also there was the Blue-winged Teal and a Jack Snipe.

Tresco – 3 Black-necked Grebes, 2 Short-eared Owls, a partial summer plumage Black-throated Diver, a Scaup and 2 female Bullfinches, real Scilly rarities!

St. Agnes – A Short-eared Owl and a Firecrest
