The first boat of the year to Tresco today, allowing the islands birders to catch up with:

A Black-necked Grebe in The Roads, Common Scoter (7) in The Roads and an Eider off Samson. At least 2 male Pintails, TWO Buzzards over NE end of Tresco, 3 Jackdaw, 4 Pink-footed Geese, Long-tailed Duck in Pentle Bay, Red-breasted Merg off South Beach and 2 Black-throated Diver, Whimbrel, 3 Slav Grebe, 18 Pochard, Scaup and Mistle Thrush at Old Grimsby. A Spoonbill was in Old Town Bay, St Mary’s early Morning and the Hooded Crow was on Bryher viewed from Tresco.
