St Mary’sGreat Northern Diver off Giant’s Castle, 2 Wheatear on the airfield, 3 Greenshank, 3 Snipe, a Water Rail and a Merlin at Porth Hellick. A male Marsh Harrier and a Green Sandpiper at Lower Moors.

St. Martin’s – A Merlin, a Kestrel, 2 Whimbrel, 2 Wheatear, a Rook and a Jackdaw ( the latter two scarce birds on Scilly).

Both the male Marsh Harrier (over the airfield) and the female Marsh Harrier (Annet) have been seen again today (Friday 09/04). Let’s hope they meet up and breed. It is 2 years since this species last bred on Scilly as the male has not turned up in the last 2 Springs.
