St. Mary’s – The 6 Greenland White-fronted Geese were still in a field on Carn Friars Farm behind the ringing station. The first White Wagtails of the year were 2 males at Longstone

Saturday 23rd February 2013 IoS Bird Reports

St. Mary’s – The adult Iceland Gull was on Porth Mellon and a second-winter Yellow-legged Gull was commuting between Porth Mellon and Porthloo. There were now up to 6 Mediterranean Gulls on beaches around Hugh Town.

St. Mary’s – The adult Iceland Gull and the Black Redstart were at Porthloo. The Lapwing was in a field along the coastal path past Juliet’s Garden and 3 Mediterranean Gulls were in Old Town Bay.

Wednesday 20th February 2013 IoS Bird Reports

St. Mary’s – The 6 Greenland White-fronted Geese were still on Carn Friars farm in the field behind the ringing station. Tresco – The 3 Ring-necked Ducks were now on the Great Pool and there was an astounding count of 9 Short-eared Owls around the woodpile

St. Mary’s – Only 2 Ring-necked Ducks ( the females) were on Porth Hellick Pool and the 6 Greenland White-fronted Geese were still on Carn Friars farm in the field behind the ringing station.
