Wednesday 11th A Great Northern Diver was in Town Bay and a Jack Snipe was flushed from a field at Porth Hellick. On Bryher there were 3 Grey Plover and 6 Great Northern Diver offshore. On St. Mary’s the 2 Chough, the Black-necked Grebe and a few Black Restart were present throughout. The ring-tailed Hen Harrier that has been around all winter put in intermittent appearances on the island and there were sporadic reports of Firecrest, White Wagtail and Woodcock. Monday (13/01) An hour’s sea-watch from Peninnis produced 4 Fulmar, 2 Gannet, c20 Kittiwake and a single Guillemot. On land, again on Peninnis, a Jack Snipe & a Merlin were seen.
