Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th September 2017 IoS Bird Sightings

Monday’s birds were: St. Mary’s – The Semi-palmated Sandpiper was still on Porth Hellick Pool, also there were 14 Greenshanks and the Spotted Crake showed again in the evening. Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th September 2017 IoS Bird Sightings

Saturday’s birds were: St, Mary’s – The Semi-palmated Sandpiper was still on Porth Hellick Pool, where there were also 14 Teal, 2+ Water Rails, 10 Common Snipe,11 Greenshanks and a Kingfisher. Thursday 7th and Friday 8th September 2017 IoS Bird Sightings

Thursday’s birds were: St. Mary’s – A Semi-palmated Sandpiper was found late evening on Porth Hellick Pool, where a Spotted Crake showed briefly at 16:00. Friday’s birds were: St. Mary’s – A juvenile Red-backed Shrike was caught and ringed at Porth Hellick Ringing Station and was relocated in the afternoon in fields on Carn Friars Farm. St. Mary’s – A Pectoral Sandpiper & 3 Greenshanks were on Lower Moors Pool and a Spotted Crake was seen there at dusk.
