Tuesday’s birds were:

St. Mary’s – The Pectoral Sandpiper, a Dunlin, 12 Greenshanks and a very elusive Spotted Crake were on Porth Hellick Pool.

Wednesday’s birds were:

St. Mary’s – An extremely elusive Icterine Warbler was in the pines behind the tennis courts on the Garrison. A Wryneck and 5 Northern Wheatears were in the Airport/Giant’s Castle area. A Teal, a Green Sandpiper, a Greenshank and a Whinchat were at Lower Moors. 3 Teal, 12 Greenshanks and a Kingfisher were on Porth Hellick Pool. A Grey Wagtail was in Old Town and 2 White Wagtails were at Porthcressa, with further singles at Lunnon & Maypole.

Inter-island waters – A Great Shearwater was off White Island.

At sea – A 3 hour short-range pelagic trip in the morning produced: 21 Cory’s & 3 Great Shearwaters, an Arctic & 6 Great Skuas and 20 Short-beaked Common Dolphins.
