Samson – Spoonbill this morning flew towards Bryher Tresco – Black Duck still on Abbey Pool this afternoon 15.30 ( 2 Pochard flew from Abbey to Great Pool this morning ) Bullfinch at entrance to Abbey Gardens. Also, 2 Short-eared Owls Read more…

The ISBG website (in it’s current format) has been up and running for just over a year now and despite having a poor Autumn birding season the site still managed to attract 9,741 visitors from 84 different countries! The highest Read more…
The Gyr was seen again on Tresco on 7th March and there was also the first Wheatear of the year there. A Spoonbill was on Bryher on the 8th. There are currently up 10 Firecrests on St. Agnes.

Apologies for the lack of recent reports. Relatively quiet as to be expected over the last few months with one or two exceptions: Up to 5 Short- eared Owls and a Long-tailed Duck through out on Tresco. Still good Read more…

St Mary’s – Balearic Shearwater flew East past Porth Hellick Bay at 12.05hrs and c40 Lapwing over Porth Hellick area. There seemed to be fewer Redwings and Fieldfare about today
