St. Mary’s – 2 Cory’s Shearwaters past Deep Point and 2 Crossbills in the pine belt nearby. A Mediterranean Gull on Taylor’s Island, Porthloo and a Common Sandpiper on Porth Hellick Pool.

Saturday 16th July 2011 IoS Bird Reports

St. Mary’s – The 3 Mediterranean Gulls were still at Porthloo and a Common Sandpiper was on Porth Hellick Pool. Tresco – 2 adult Mediterranean Gulls (commuting from Porthloo?) a first-summer Arctic Tern, a Quail and 2 Crossbills. Samson – A Marsh Harrier and a Whimbrel.

Tuesday 12th July 2011 IoS Bird Reports

St. Mary’s – A Golden Oriole was singing at Trenoweth and a Hobby, 3 Common Sandpipers, a Green Sandpiper, 2 Teal & a drake Tufted Duck were all at Porth Hellick. St. Agnes – A Green Sandpiper, a Common Sandpiper, 3 Curlew and 3 Swifts.

St. Agnes – 2 Curlews and 2 Common Sandpipers. Tresco – A Common Buzzard and 3 Swifts. At sea – A very quiet evening pelagic trip produced about a dozen European Storm-petrels and 2 Great Skuas.
