St. Mary’s – A Serin flew over Star Castle and a Golden Oriole was in Lower Moors. At sea – A short-range pelagic trip produced a Pomarine Skua, a Great Skua and 30+ European Storm-petrels

St. Mary’s – The Eider was still at Pendrethen, a White Wagtail was at Higher Moors, a Cuckoo was at Deep Point and 2 Turtle Doves and a Rook were at Lunnon

St. Martin’s – A Golden Oriole and 10 Swifts. At sea – The first shark fishing/pelagic trip of the year produced 40+ European Storm-petrels, 6 Manx Shearwaters, a Basking Shark and a Blue Shark which was landed, tagged and released.

Wednesday 30th May 2012 Io Bird Reports

St. Mary’s – 2 Hobbies & a Yellow Wagtail at Carn Friars, a second-summer Yellow-legged Gull off Morning Point and an Osprey late evening over Lower Moors. St. Martin’s – A Short-toed Lark was near the Daymark in the evening.

Bryher – A suberb summer-plumaged male Black-headed Bunting was near Great Popplestone Bay.
