American Wigeon – Still on Porth Hellick Pool.
Hoopoe – An astonishing count of 5 on St. Martin’s, 2 by the fire station and 3 flew over Cardiac Hill.
Garganey – a drake circled Porth Hellick Pool then flew northeast.
Serin – 1 flew over Airport Lane towards the Parting Carn chicken field near Tremelethen.

Hawfinch – 1 flew west low over St. Agnes Lighthouse.
Black-throated Diver – 1 off Pentle Bay, Tresco.
Common Sandpiper – 1 at Porth Killier, St. Agnes.
Merlin – 1 above Middle Town, St. Martin’s.
Rook – 1 flew over Par Beach, St. Martin’s.
Ring Ouzel – The first report of the spring was off 1 on Chapel Down, St. Martin’s,
Flava Wagtail – A blue/grey capped bird flew east over Little Arthur Farm.
Yellow Wagtail – 1 flew over Porth Hellick Pool.
Tuesday (07/04)
American Wigeon – The first-winter drake was still on Porth Hellick Pool.
Hoopoe – 1 west of the north end of Pound Lane, St. Martin’s and it or another flew over St. Martin’s Community Centre.
Osprey – 1 drifted south over Tresco Channel and later seen over Bryher and St. Mary’s (photo)
Marsh Harrier – 1 flew over Tresco Channel.
Great Northern Diver – 1 Great Par, Bryher.
Cattle Egret – 1 roosted in Holy Vale.
Dartford Warbler – 1 was still on St. Martin’s.
Firecrest – 1 in the Parsonage Garden, St. Agnes.
Tree Pipit – the first reports of the spring were all from St. Matin’s: 2 at Higher Town, 1 at Middle Town and 2 at Tinkler’s Point.
Sedge Warbler – 1 on the west side of Popplestone, Bryher was the first of the year.
Ring Ouzel – 1 flew over the Plains and 1 on White Island causeway, both St. Martin’s.
Yellow Wagtail – 2 flew north from Pelistry Stables and 1 flew north over the airport. The flava wagtail seen yesterday on St. Martin’s, was see again and photographed and thought to be a Spanish/Ashy-headed intergrade.
Brambling – A female was at Pelistry Stables.
Wednesday (08/04)
American Wigeon – The first-winter drake was still on Porth Hellick Pool.
Tree Sparrow – 1 was on wires at Maypole Triangle and the flew off low northwest. This a rare bird on Scilly and it is the first record since 2019.
Cattle Egret – 1 on Simpson’s Field, Tresco.
Wryneck – 1 in the willows to the east of the church on Tresco.
Hoopoe – On St. Martin’s 1 was at Perpitch and it or another just west of the dump.
Dartford Warbler – 1 was still on St. Martin’s.
Black-throated Diver – A bird almost in full summer plumage was off Skirt Island, Tresco.
Great Northern Diver – 5 off Skirt Island, Tresco.
Pochard – 4 on the Great Pool and 1 on Abbey Pool, Tresco
Common Scoter – 5 off Cruther’s Point, St. Martin’s.
Golden Plover – 1 in the fields to the west of the church on Tresco.
Common Sandpiper – 1 on Simpson’s Field, Tresco.
Cuckoo – The first of the spring was 1 at Gimble Porth, Tresco.
Hooded Crow – 1 flew over Annet.
Common Whitethroat – 1 singing in a hawthorn hedge west of the David Hunt Hide on Pool Road, Tresco.
Reed Warbler – The first of the year were 2 at Porth Hellick.
Yellow Wagtail – 2 in a ploughed field at Telegraph Corner.
White Wagtail – 2 in a ploughed field at Telegraph Corner and 1 on Simpson’s Field, Tresco.
Risso’s Dolphin –A pod of about 40 were seen of Deep Point heading west towards Giant’s Castle (photo).
Thursday (09/04)
American Wigeon – The first-winter drake was still on Porth Hellick Pool.
Hoopoe – 1 was above Middle Town, St. Martn’s.
Common Scoter – 5 still off Cruther’s Point, St. Martin’s.
Purple Sandpiper – 3 om Menawethan, Eastern Isles.
Dartford Warbler – 1 was still on St. Martin’s.
Reed Warbler – 2 were still at Porth Hellick.
Yellow Wagtail – 2 in a ploughed field at Telegraph Corner and a female near Mount Todden Farmhouse.
Friday (10/04)
American Wigeon – The first-winter drake was still on Porth Hellick Pool.
Garganey – A drake was briefly on Porth Hellick Pool late morning.
Black-throated Diver – 1 near Nut Rock, Tresco.
Great Northern Diver – 11 on the waters around the Garrison.
Yellow Wagtail – 2 still in a ploughed field at Telegraph Corner.
Saturday (11/04)
American Wigeon – The first-winter drake was still on Porth Hellick Pool.
Shelduck – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.
Hoopoe – 1 on the downs on St. Martin’s.
Sunday (12/04)
American Wigeon – The first-winter drake was still on Porth Hellick Pool.
Whimbrel– 2 on St. Agnes at Browarth high tide roost.
Pochard – A drake on the Great Pool and a drake on Abbey Pool, Tresco.
