The strong south-westerly winds and heavy overnight rain came up trumps producing three “yanks”

INDIGO BUNTING – A female/immature was found near the Big Pool on St. Agnes. This was the first record for Scilly and only the third for Britain

Red-eyed Vireo – 1 at Lower Town Farm, St. Agnes and 1 by Bennett’s Boatyard on Bryher

Dusky Warbler – 1 still between Thomas Porth and Porthloo     

Glossy Ibis – 1 flew north over Salakee

Woodlark – 1 briefly in fields on the east side of Peninnis

Greylag Goose  – 1 near Longstone

Russian White-fronted Goose – 1 near Longstone

Shelduck – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco

Mandarin  – the drake of unknown origin was seen at Lower Moors and roosted on a private pool opposite the Golf Course entrance road

Shoveler – 2 on the Great Pool, Tresco

Wigeon – 2 on the Great Pool, Tresco

Pochard – 3 on the Great Pool, Tresco

Great Northern Diver – 2 flew over the Garrison Campsite

Sooty Shearwater – 3 flew past Peninnis Head

Spoonbill – 3 on Green Island

Little Egret – 2 Porthloo 

Jack Snipe – 1 Porth Hellick

Arctic Skua – 1 off Peninnis

Short-eared Owl – 1 still below Harry’s Walls

Great Spotted Woodpecker – 1 Porth Hellick Loop

Merlin – 1 St. Agnes 

Siberian Chiffchaff – A “probable “ 200 yards east of the Coastguards Café, St. Agnes

Yellow-browed Warbler – 21 on St. Mary’s, 4 on Tresco and 1 on St. Martin’s

Firecrest – 1 St. Agnes

Ring Ouzel – 1 Peninnis Farm Trail

Spotted Flycatcher – 1 in the Parsonage Garden, St. Agnes

Nightingale – 1 still in Little Porth Gardens and on the path    

Pied Flycatcher – 1 in the Parsonage Garden, St. Agnes

Black Redstart – 1 by Peninnis lighthouse, 1 Porthloo, 1 Porth Melon, 1 by the  school and 1 in St. Nicholas’s Churchyard, Tresco

Yellow Wagtail – 1 Holy Vale

White Wagtail – 12 Holy Vale

Siskin – 12 Holy Vale

Snow Bunting – 1 still by Peninnis lighthouse, 1 Bar Point, 2 St. Agnes
