Mondays birds were: A Ruff was on the Great Pool, Tresco and a Pied Flycatcher was at Holy Vale. Over 70 Sandwich Terns were on the rocks at Porthcressa and a Spotted Flycatcher was on the coast path at Peninnis. A BONELLI’S WARBLER was in sycamores at Borough Farm, Tresco and 2 Whinchat, Pied Flycatcher and a Crossbill were also on the island. Spotted and Pied Flycatchers were at Carn Friars. Porth Hellick beach held 8 Greenshank, 3 Curlew, 2 Turnstone and 6 Ringed Plover.

Tuesdays Birds were: A Kingfisher and 2 Willow Warblers were at Newford Duck Pond and a Whinchat was at Old Town. A Greenshank and 4 Sanderling were on Tresco. A Juvenile Peregrine was found injured on the golf course and was taken into care but sadly died the following day.

Wednesdays birds were: Seven Brent Geese flew past Porth Hellick beach and 3 Snipe, a Kingfisher, and 12 Sand Martin’s were at Lower Moors. Another Kingfisher was at Porth Hellick Bay and 2 Whimbrel were at Pereiglis.

Thursdays Birds were: Twelve Brent Geese were on Porthcressa Beach and another was seen flying towards Tresco. Two Whimbrel, a Raven and a Bar-tailed Godwit were at Lawrence Brow, St Martins. A Wood Sandpiper was reported again from Tresco.

Fridays Birds were: A Whitethroat and 3 Wheatears were at Peninnis and 20 Sandwich Terns were on the rocks at Porthcressa. A White Wagtail was on Penninis Head and 30 Dunlin were on Tresco. The Wood Sandpiper on Tresco was re-identified from photographs as a LESSER YELLOWLEGS. It was first reported as such on the 10th. Also on Great Pool were 2 Med Gulls, 2 Wigeon, Tufted Duck, and Shoveller. A Pied Flycatcher was at Borough Farm. A Turtle Dove was with Collared Doves near Carn Vean. A Lapland Bunting was on the golf course and the Porth Hellick/Lower Moors area held Yellow Wagtail, 8 White Wagtails, 3 Spotted Flycatchers, 12+ Willow Warblers and Kingfisher. A Red-backed Shrike was reported from the unlikely location of Porthcressa Beach.

Saturdays Birds were: A Common Tern was at Western Rocks and 2 Ravens were on St Agnes. Two Swifts flew over Porth Hellick House late morning and Whinchat was in fields near Higher Moors. Two others were at Salakee and a possible Red-backed Shrike was seen briefly there. The Lesser Yellowlegs was joined by 8 Redshank and 6 Greenshank on Tresco and a Redstart and 4 Whinchat were in the Standing Stones field at Lower Moors. Ten Greenshank and 2 Snipe were at Porth Hellick. A Red-backed Shrike was at Carn Friars.

Sundays Birds were: A Red-backed Shrike was at Carn Friars and Redstart, Tree pipit and 2 Yellow Wagtails were also there. A Catti’s Warbler was at the loop trail at Porth Hellick and a Pied Flycatcher was at Deep Point. There were 19 Sanderling on Tresco and 2 Whitethroats at Mount Todde Farm. Other Pied Flycatchers were at The Star Castle, Pelistry , The Garrison (2) and St Martins (2). Common Redstarts were seen at the airport (2), Peninnis Head and Little Bay, St Martins. The Lesser Yellowlegs remained on Tresco. Twelve Wheatears, 5 Whinchat and 5 White Wagtails were between Blue Carn and giants Castle. A Turtle Dove was seen at Watermill and Whinchats were also at Old Grimsby, Tresco and Lower Moors.
