Wednesday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – 6 Greenshanks & 3 Green Sandpipers were on Porth Hellick Pool, 2 more Green Sandpipers were on rocks at the end of Peninnis and 1 was on Newford Duck Pond. A Common Sandpiper was in Lower Moors and 2 Curlews & a Whimbrel were at Bar Point. 6 Mediterranean Gulls and 10 Sandwich Terns were in Porthcressa Bay.
Bryher – 10 Whimbrels.
Thursday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – Amongst birds ringed at Porth Hellick were a Common Sandpiper and a Common Whitethroat moult, an unringed Common Sandpiper was still in Lower Moors.
At sea – Seen on the evening short-range pelagic were: 15 European Storm-petrels, 2 Wilson’s Storm-petrels, the first Great Shearwater of the year, a Yellow-legged Gull, 20 Common Dolphins and 2 Blue Sharks, which were caught tagged and released.
