Monday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – A Lesser Whitethroat was seen at Higher Moors and it or another was seen near Porth Hellick House. A Spotted Flycatcher was in an orchard on Carn Friars Lane, a Tree Pipit was on Kittydown and an early Basking Shark was seen of the Steval, the Garrison.
St. Agnes – The Bee-eater, 3 Bar-tailed Godwits, a Wheatear and 2 Spotted Flycatchers.
Tresco – 15 Dunlins and a Pintail.
Inter-island waters – A Great Northern Diver was off St. Martins and 2 were off Annet, where 110+ Manx Shearwaters.
At sea – 10+ European Storm-petrels were seen on a quiet short-range evening pelagic trip.
Tuesday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – An adult Rose-coloured Starling was found at Porthloo by 2 local birders form where it promptly flew to Shark’s Pit Lane were it was seen at the top of an elm tree before disappearing and could not be relocated. 2 Swifts were over Star Castle, a Hobby was over Tremelethen, a Jackdaw flew over Higher Moors, a female Wheatear was at Deep Point and a Spotted Flycatcher was at Rocky Hills. A Painted Lady Butterfly was at Shark’s Pit.
St. Agnes – 5 Whimbrels, 3 Bar-tailed Godwits, 2 Swifts, 2 Cuckoos and 2 Wheatears.
