St. Mary’s – Up to 3 Mediterranean, 3 Glaucous and 4 Iceland Gulls in the bays around Hugh Town. The 2 Black-necked Grebes were seen up until Friday 23rd Feb but not on 24th. On Wednesday 21st a scan from the headlands between Carn Morval and Water Mill produced a count of 24 Great Northern Divers! Also seen were a Long-tailed Duck and a Common Scoter. The Snowy Owl was reported from Tresco on Friday 16th and Sunday 18th. Also on Tresco were 5 Pink-footed Geese, 2 Wigeon, 3 Shoveler, 6 Pochard and a Common Buzzard.
