St. Mary’s – 2 Pectoral Sandpipers, 2 Green Sandpipers, a Common Sandpiper, 11 Greenshanks, a Black-tailed Godwit, a Lapwing, a Hobby and  2 Kingfishers were all at Porth Hellick.

Bryher – 6 Dunlins and a Spotted Flycatcher.

At sea – 2 Cory’s Shearwaters were just west of the Northern Rocks.

On a very quiet (by recent standards) short-range pelagic trip in the evening, the only birds of note were: a Great Shearwater, a Sooty Shearwater, 10 European Storm-petrels and a Great Skua. Also 20+ Common Dolphins were seen and  Blue Sharks were caught, tagged and released.

Birds seen from the Scillonian III crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s in the morning included: 2 European Storm-petrels, a Great, a Cory’s, 2 Balearic, 35 Sooty & 5000+ Manx Shearwaters, 14 Common & 4 Arctic Terns and a Common Swift.
