St. Mary’s – A Purple Heron flew over Watermill towards Innisidgen.

At sea – A Balearic, a Sooty, a Great & 2 Cory’s Shearwaters and 20 European Storm-petrels where seen from the Scillonian III on the evening crossing from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

The evening short-range pelagic trip produced the biggest number of Wilson’s Storm-petrels ever seen on one trip, an incredible 20+, with 9 feeding together in the slick from the chum bags. As a bonus also seen were: 50 European Storm-petrels, 12 Great Shearwaters, 3 Cory’s Shearwaters, 4 Sooty Shearwaters, 200 Manx Shearwaters and a Pomarine Skua. Also there 20 Common Dolphins were seen and the first Porbeagle Shark of the year was caught, tagged and released.
