St Mary’s – Only birds of note today were the PURPLE HERON still at the bottom end of Holy Vale and a female Great Spotted Woodpecker at Carn Friars.

St Mary’s – BLACK STORK flew over Porth Hellick Pool at 07.05hrs towards Deep point, but could not be relocated. A BEE-EATER flew over Hugh Town towards The Star Castle Hotel early afternoon. Cetti’s Warbler at Porth Hellick. St Martin’s Read more…
St Mary’s – The Marsh Harrier was again in the Lower Moors/Porth Hellick area. St Martins – A Wryneck was near the Reading Rooms.
St Mary’s – Marsh Harrier again at porth Hellick. Also House Martin (2), Swallow (4) and Willow Warbler (2). Elsewhere a Short-eared Owl was near camel Rock and a Green Sandpiper flew over porth Hellick Down.
A very foggy day on the islands with only the female Marsh Harrier noted, commuting between Lower Moors and Porth Hellick.
