St. Mary’s – A Common Sandpiper was by the quay and 2 Greenshanks were on Porth Hellick Pool. St. Martin’s – 6 Curlews. Annet – A Common Sandpiper and a Marsh Harrier.

The only report from the island was of 2 Whimbrels and 3 Curlews on St. Agnes. Things were better at sea with a Wilson’s Storm-petrel seen from the Scillonian evening crossing from St. Mary’s to Penzance. It was seen at Read more…
Samson – A Knot and 2 Bar-tailed Godwits. Tresco – A Black-tailed Godwit, a Whimbrel, 12 Sanderlings and a Common Buzzard.
St. Mary’s – A Lesser Redpoll was in Holy Vale. Tresco – A Black-tailed Godwit and 8 Greenshank. At sea – A Cory’s Shearwater was seen from the evening Scillonian crossing from Hugh Town to Penzance.
St. Mary’s – A Cory’s Shearwater flew past Deep Point, 2 Siskins were at Innisidgen, 2 juvenile Cuckoos were on Porth Hellick Down and a Greenshank & Redshank were on Porth Hellick Pool.
After a wet and windy day the weather improved enough for an evening pelagic trip, on which, 3+ Wilson’s Storm-petrels, 40+ European Storm-petrels, 5+ Great Skuas and the first Cory’s Shearwater (the first of the year) were seen. Also on Read more…
