Sunday 13th October 2013 IoS Bird Sightings

 

Snow Bunting (J.Pender)

GREY-CHEEKED THRUSH – It ranged from Old Town Churchyard and up the hill towards the Health Centre. It showed much better than yesterday and many birders connected with it, but it was still a case of being in the right place at the right time.

SORA RAIL – 1 still on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Purple Heron – 1 flew over Peninnis towards Lower Moors at 09:30 and was not seen subsequently.

Short-toed Lark – 1 still on St. Agnes.

Rose-coloured Starling – 1 on St. Agnes. (more…)

The highlights of Tuesday’s log were:

Arctic Warbler – 1 still at Newford Duck Pond.

Purple Heron – 1 still at Lower Moors visiting.

Short-toed Lark – 1 still on St. Agnes.

Rose-coloured Starling – 1 on Bryher and 1 on St. Agnes.

Bluethroat – 1 still in Lower Moors.

Common Rosefinch – 1 still on Bryher.

Spotted Crake – 1 still in Lower Moors. (more…)

Monday 7th October 2013 IoS Bird Sightings

The highlights from Monday’s log were:

Grey-cheeked Thrush – 1 seen at in Old Town Churchyard at 10:10 but not seen subsequently.

Arctic Warbler – 1 at Newford Duck Pond.

Purple Heron – 1 still at Lower Moors visiting.

Little Bunting – 1 Newford Duck Pond and 1 on Bryher.

Short-toed Lark – 1 St. Agnes.

Rose-coloured Starling – 1 on Bryher.

Bluethroat – 1 Lower Moors.

Common Rosefinch – 1 on Bryher and 1 on Carn Friars Farm.

Icterine Warbler – 1 in the fruit cage, St. Agnes. (more…)
