St. Mary’s – A Yellow Wagtail, a Lesser Redpoll, 20 Common Swifts and about 200 hirundines ( mainly Swallows but some House Martins and a few Sand Martins) were at Porth Hellick. Friday 17th May 2013 IoS Bird Sightings

St. Mary’s – A Spotted Flycatcher was by the entrance to the golf course, 2 Siskins were at Maypole and 5 Common Swifts were at Porth Hellick. Tresco – A Common Sandpiper, 4 Common Swifts, a Jackdaw, 2 Common Buzzards and 8 Sanderlings.

St. Mary’s – The female Woodchat Shrike was still at Pelistry Cove, 2 Common Swifts & a male Marsh Harrier were at Porth Hellick and 8 Common & 2 Arctic Terns were in Porthcressa Bay.

Thursday 9th May 2013 IoS Bird Sightings

St. Mary’s – The female Subalpine Warbler was still on the track behind Carn Vean Tea Rooms, where there were also 3 Golden Plovers and 3 Whimbrels. A Dunlin & a summer-plumaged Black-tailed Godwit were on Porth Hellick Pool and the Short-toed Lark was still on the airfield.
