Bonaparte’s Gull – The first-winter bird was again at Little Porth

Tuesday (24/02)

Swallow – 1 was over Kittydown.

Chiffchaff  – 1 was singing near Farm Beach, Tresco.

Wednesday (25/02)

Bonaparte’s Gull – The first-winter bird was again at Little Porth.

Great White Egret – 1 in Old Town Bay.

Canada Goose  – The first seen this year were 2 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Fin Whale – A whale that was probably this species was seen off Peninnis Head,

Thursday (26/02)

Bonaparte’s Gull – The first-winter bird was still at Little Porth.

Spoonbill  – 1 flew east over Higher Town, St. Martin’s.

Swallow  – 1 over the Great Pool, Tresco.

Friday (27/02)

Bonaparte’s Gull – It was seen on rocks in Porth Cressa before it flew towards Peninnis, where it landed in  a cow filed and then over the airfield.

House Martin – 2 over Lower Moors.

Saturday (28/02)

Great White Egret – 1 was in Old Town Bay.

Sunday (01/03)

Bonaparte’s Gull – It was back at Porth Cressa/Little Porth.

Swallow  – 1 at Parting Carn.
