Eastern Yellow Wagtail – 1 again in the Longstone/Tremelethen area.

Cattle Egret – 2 in fields south of Longstone Bungalow.

Lapwing – 1 in the old chicken field at Tremelethen.

Grey Wagtail – 1 in the old chicken field at Tremelethen.

Sunday (10/12)

Eastern Yellow Wagtail – 1 in in the Longstone/Tremelethen area.

Cattle Egret – 2 were still in fields south of Longstone Bungalow.

Humpback Whale – 2 seen close inshore of Deep Point and then seen off Giant’s Castle & Peninnis before heading toward St. Agnes.

Monday (11/12)

Eastern Yellow Wagtail – 1 again in a field west of Longstone Bungalow.

Greylag Goose – 1 in a field west of Holy Vale (photo).

Tuesday (12/12)

Cattle Egret – 2 with cattle in a field south of Longstone.

Spoonbill – 1 on Samson.

Little Egret – 1 on Bryher.

Greylag Goose – 1 still in the field next to the higher Moors.

Great Northern Diver – 1 in Green Bay, Bryher.

Wigeon – 2 on Bryher Pool.

Mediterranean Gull – 1 on Bryher.

Merlin – An immature flew past Carn Thomas.

Cetti’s Warbler – 1 Higher Moors.

Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 on Bryher.

Wednesday (13/12)

Cattle Egret – 2 flew over the Higher Moors and landed in a field with at the Normandy end of Kittydown.

Greylag Goose – 1 still in the field next to the Higher Moors.

Merlin – 2 flew through Porth Cressa towards the Garrison playing fields.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 in Lower Moors.

Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 in Lower Moors.

Grey Wagtail – 1 in the Parting Carn chicken field.

Thursday (14/12)

Cattle Egret – 2 were again in a field south of Longstone.

Greylag Goose – 1 still in the field next to the Higher Moors.

Siberian Chiffchaff – 1 was in a field between Carreg Dhu Gardens and Porth Hellick House.

Humpback Whale – At least 2 possibly 3 seen of headlands, one of which was “Pi”, so called because of the π marking on its skin (photo) and first seen off Scilly in the winters of 20/21 and 22/23.

Fin Whale – 1 and possibly 2 seen off Scilly headlands.

Friday (15/12)

Surf Scoter – A 1st-winter female was in Pentle Bay, Tresco (photo).

Pintail – A pair were in Pentle Bay, Tresco.

Great Northern Diver – 25+ were in interisland waters.

Short-eared Owl – 1 was seen at Bryher Campsite and another owl thought to be this species flew over Pungies Lane in poor light at 07:10

Yellow-browed Warbler – A ringed bird was 70 metres north of the Stephen Sussex hide at Porth Hellick. This is most likely the bird ringed at Porth Hellick Ringing Station on November 29th.
