Common Crane – 1 was reported flying low over the MV Firethorn and may have landed at Hillside Farm, Bryher.

Brent Goose – A late bird in Pentle Bay, Tresco.

Little Egret – 1 was on Simpson’s Field, Tresco.

Sanderling – 12 flew east along Gleaner Beach, Tresco,

Common Sandpiper – 1 Porth Killier, St. Agnes.

Common Buzzard – 1 flew in off the seas over Morning Point on the Garrison.

Common Swift – 1 over Kittydown, 1 over Carn Vean and 1 over the laundry on Tresco

Cuckoo –1 flew over the millstones on Peninnis, 1 calling in the pines between Innisidgen and Helvear and 1 calling at Pelistry.

Grasshopper Warbler – 1 was reeling in Lower Moors late morning.

Spotted Flycatcher – 2 on Bryher and 1 on the footpath south of Carn Vean Café.

Thursday (18/05)

Honey Buzzard – A “probable” flew over Hugh Town at 06:45.

Grasshopper Warbler – 1 reeling briefly in the Standing Stones Field, Lower Moors.

Little Egret –1 was on South Beach, Tresco.

Whimbrel – 6 Toll’s Porth

Common Buzzard – 1 being mobbed over Gugh.

Common Swift – 1 over Porthloo and 2 in the Kittydown/Riding Stables area. 

Cuckoo –1 calling in the Rowesfield area on Tresco and 1 calling on Peninnis.

Cetti’s Warbler – 1 by the pool in the Standing Stones Field, Lower Moors.

White Wagtail – 1 Periglis, St. Agnes

Friday (19/05)

Little Egret – 1 on St. Martin’s.

Spotted Flycatcher – 1 just west of Carn Leh, Old Town Bay and 1 on the track between the campsites on the Garrison.

Saturday (20/05)

Pintail – A drake on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 1 near Skirt Island, Tresco.

Whimbrel – 2 Porthloo.

Common Swift – 6 over the Great Pool, Tresco and 1 Higher Moors.

Cuckoo –1 calling behind the Karma Hotel, St. Martin’s and 2 Shipman Head Down, Bryher.

Garden Warbler – 1 on the track between the campsites on the Garrison.

Spotted Flycatcher – 1 still. Carn Leh, Old Town.

Sunday (21/05)

Red Kite – A huger influx with bird seen in large numbers across the islands, the highest count was 133! over Hugh Town (photo). This is by far the largest number ever recorded on Scilly,

Honey Buzzard – 1 was in with the Red Kites (photo).

Common Buzzard – 1 over the Rocky Hill area.

Whimbrel – 2 Bryher.

Common Swift – 3 over Higher Moors and 1 over Top Rock, St. Martin’s.

Cuckoo –1 calling at Seaway’s Farm, Porthloo, 1 calling in the Halangy/Telegraph area and 1 on the Golf Course.

Spotted Flycatcher – 6 in Popplestone Fields, Bryher.

White Wagtail – 1 Bryher.
