Pectoral Sandpiper – The first of the autumn was 1 seen from the Swarovski Hide on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Red-backed Shrike – 1 in the hedge of a field on the other side the Pool Road opposite the track to Swarovski Hide, Tresco.

Black-tailed Godwit ­­­­– 14 on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Wood Sandpiper – 2 on Abbey Pool and 2 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Green Sandpiper – 2 on Porth Hellick Pool and 3 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Common Sandpiper – 3 on Porth Hellick Pool and 1 on the big Pool, St. Agnes.

Water Rail – A juvenile on Porth Hellick Pool and 1 on the big Pool, St. Agnes.

Kingfisher – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Pied Flycatcher – 1 in the Parsonage Garden, St. Agnes.

Spotted Flycatcher – 1 in the Parsonage Garden, St. Agnes and 1 on Pool Road, Tresco.

Thursday (25/08)

Pectoral Sandpiper – 1 still on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Hoopoe – 1 in a field at Telegraph.

Red-backed Shrike – 1 still on the Great Pool, Tresco in a hedge below Racket Town.

Dotterel – 1 circling and calling over Longstone at 22:20.

Seen on the evening sharking/birding trip again 3 miles west of Bishop Rock where: 12 European Storm-petrel, 58 Cory’s Shearwater, 11 Great Shearwater, a Balearic Shearwater200 Manx Shearwater, a Sabine’s Gull 2 Great Skua , a Grey Phalarope, 25 Short-beaked Dolphin, an Ocean Sunfish and a Blue Shark.

Green Sandpiper – 5 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Common Sandpiper – 4 on the Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Wood Warbler – 1 in the pines at Mount Todden.

Whitethroat – 3 in the Telegraph area. 

Spotted Flycatcher – 4 in the Telegraph area.

Friday (26/08)

The first evening trip of the final weekend of Birders’ Special Pelagics went 6 miles south of St. Mary’s and hit the jackpot with a FEA’S/DESERTAS PETREL (photo), also seen were 20 European Storm-petrel, 20 Great Shearwater, 14 Cory’s Shearwater, a Sooty Shearwater, 500 Manx Shearwater, an adult Sabine’s Gull, an Arctic Skua, 2 Great Skua, 100 Short-beaked Dolphin and a Blue Shark.

Pectoral Sandpiper – 1 still on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Wood Sandpiper – 3 on the Great Pool, Tresco and 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Cuckoo – 1 Pelistry Bay.

Wood Warbler – 1 still in the pines at Mount Todden.

Pied Flycatcher – 1 Higher Moors.

Yellow Wagtail – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Saturday (27/08)

Birders on the penultimate daytime Birders’ Special Pelagic trip 12 miles south of St. Mary’s saw 4 European Storm-petrel, 16 Great Shearwater, 12 Cory’s Shearwater, 2 Sooty Shearwater, 3 Balearic Shearwater, 1000 Manx Shearwater, 8 Grey Phalarope, 10 Atlantic Bluefin Tuna and 80 Short-beaked Dolphin.

Wood Sandpiper – 3 still on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Green Sandpiper – 2 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Common Sandpiper – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Water Rail – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Kingfisher – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.
