Golden Oriole – A male was in Carreg Dhu Gardens.

Garganey – The male was still on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Great Northern Diver – 1 off Guther’s Island and 1 off Drop Nose Point. Gugh.

Common Sandpiper – 1 at Cove Vean, St. Agnes.

Golden Plover – 3 near the Daymark on St. Martin’s.

Bar-tailed Godwit – a summer-plumaged bird at Beady Pool, St. Agnes.

Whimbrel – 3 flew west over Peninnis, 6 on Wingletang Down, St. Agnes and 1 at Beady Pool, St. Agnes.

Hobby – 1 over Carreg Dhu Gardens.

Cuckoo – 1 at Watermill.

Cetti’s Warbler – 2 in song at Higher Moors.

Ring Ouzel – The male was still on the Golf Course and another male on Wingletang Down, St. Agnes.

Pied Flycatcher – A male at Cove Vean, St. Agnes.

Black Redstart – The female type was still on Peninnis below the lighthouse.

Friday (06/05)

Golden Oriole – The male was still in Carreg Dhu Gardens.

Garganey – The male was still on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Scaup – The pair were still on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Pochard – A pair with 4 ducklings were on Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Great Northern Diver – 3 including 2 summer-plumaged birds between St. Mary’s and St. Martin’s.

Golden Plover – 3 on Wingletang Down, St. Agnes (photo).

Purple Sandpiper – 5 on rocks off Horse Point, St. Agnes.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 1 in breeding plumage seen from Troy Town Campsite, St. Agnes.

Whimbrel – 1 in Old Town Bay, 1 Porthloo and 4 on Par Beach, St. Martin’s.

Siberian Chiffchaff – The ringed bird was feeding along the roadside at Sallyport.

Garden Warbler – 1 in the Community Orchard at Trenoweth.

Whitethroat – 1 near the Community Orchard at Trenoweth.

Saturday (07/05)

Golden Oriole – The male was still in Carreg Dhu Gardens which then flew north, it or another was at the top of Rocky Hill.

Garganey – The male was still on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Scaup – The pair were on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Great Northern Diver – 2 off Watermill, 1 off Deep Point and in Popplestone Bay, Bryher.

Golden Plover – 3 still on Wingletang Down, St. Agnes.

Purple Sandpiper – Still 3 on rocks off Horse Point, St. Agnes.

Common Sandpiper – 1 in St. Warna’s Cove, St. Agnes.

Swift – 1 flew over the Golf Course and 1 flew over Great Bat, St. Martin’s.

Sunday (08/05)

Turtle Dove – 1 northwest flew over Lower Moors.

Great Northern Diver – 1 south of Tresco, 1 near Teän 2 flew northwest between St. Agnes & the Garrison.

Purple Sandpiper – 1 on Men-a-vaur.

Whimbrel –5 on Tresco, 4 on Bryher and 2 on St. Helen’s.

Swift – 1 flew over the Garrison.

Tree Pipit – 1 on the Garrison and 1 at Pelistry Riding Stables.

White Wagtail – 2 on the Garrison.

Siberian Chiffchaff – The ringed bird was on Sallyport.

Black Redstart – 1 near Vine Café, Bryher.

Monday (09/05)

Corn Bunting – 1 was in the sallows on the east side of Porty Hellick. This is a rare species on Scilly, the last record was in 2017.

Golden Oriole – The male was still in Carreg Dhu Gardens and a female/immature male was in the Vine Farm fields on Bryher.

Garganey – The male was still on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Osprey – 1 flew over St. Mary’s.

Turtle Dove – Small arrival with 3 in bushes by Porth Hellick Pool, 3 in a field near the Porthloo Lane/Telegraph Road junction, 4 in a field at the top of Sandy Lane (photo),1 over Mount Todden in the morning and it or another behind Deep Point in the afternoon.

Great Northern Diver – 1 viewable form Juliet’s Garden Café.

Black-tailed Godwit – 1 flew over the Bryher Campsite towards the Big Pool.

Swift – 1 over Kittydown, 1 flew over the Porthloo Lane/Telegraph Road junction and 2 feeding over Bryher Pool.

Ring Ouzel – 1 was in a field on Salakee Farm Lane (photo).
