Glossy Ibis – 1 on Simpson’s Field, Tresco.

Cattle Egret – 3 by Sunnyside Farm.

Little Egret – 3 roosting at Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Slavonian Grebe – 1 between MacFarland’s, St. Mary’s and South Beach, Tresco.

Dark-bellied Brent Goose – 3 in Porth Mellon.

Pink-footed Goose – 5 circled over Town Hill before appearing to drop into the back of Dolphin Town, Tresco.

Shelduck – 7 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Shoveler – 5 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Pintail – 2 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Wigeon – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Pochard –11 on the Abbey Pool, Tresco.

Eider – A drake and a female in Bathing house Porth, Tresco.

Red-throated Diver – 1 near Samson.

Black-throated Diver – 1 off Skirt Island, Tresco

Great Northern Diver – 6 off Skirt Island/ Pentle Bay, Tresco.

Jack Snipe – 1 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Common Gull – 4 Porthloo.

Merlin – 1 on Tresco.

Kingfisher – 1 Old Town Bay.

Cetti’s Warbler – 1 in Lower Moors.

Fieldfare – 1 on the golf Course.

Black Redstart – 2 Porthloo.

Grey wagtail – 2 Porthloo and 2 Lower Moors.

Wednesday (12/01)

Surf Scoter – The 1st-winter female was seen in flight off Skirt Island, Tresco.

Cattle Egret – 3 on Middle Down, Tresco.

Black-necked Grebe – 1 off Skirt Island, Tresco.

Slavonian Grebe – 1 mid-channel between St.Mary’s and Tresco, viewed from Carn Morvel and 3 north of the Eastern Isles, seen from Innisidgen. 

Dark-bellied Brent Goose – 3 still in Porth Mellon moving to Porthloo and then flying towards Samson.

Pink-footed Goose – 5 in the New Grimsby area, Tresco.

Eider – The drake flew from Skirt Island, Tresco towards St. Agnes.

Black-throated Diver – 1 off Skirt Island, Tresco.

Red-throated Diver – 1 near Skirt Island, Tresco.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 1 on Taylor’s Island, Porthloo.

Mediterranean Gull – A 1st-winter bird at Shark’s Pit.

Black Redstart – 1 Porthloo.

Black-necked Grebe – 1 off South Beach, Tresco.

Spoonbill – 1 on Green Island near Samson.

Dark- bellied Brent Goose – 3 in Pentle Bay, Tresco also seen at Porthloo (photo).

Pink-footed Goose – 5 in the top field above New Grimsby, Tresco.

Shoveler – 5 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Pintail – 2 on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Pochard –11 still on the Abbey Pool, Tresco

Eider – A drake and a female in Pentle Bay, Tresco.

Black-throated Diver – 1 in Pentle Bay, Tresco.

Great Northern Diver – 10 Skirt Island/Pentle Bay, Tresco and 7 in Crow Sound.

Purple Sandpiper – 1 on rocks at the mouth of Old Town Bay

Bar-tailed Godwit 1 on Taylor’s Island, Porthloo.

Kingfisher – 1 at Porth Minnick.

Minke Whale – 1 off Giant’s Castle.

Dark-bellied Brent Goose – 3 close to shore near Skirt Island, Tresco.

Pink-footed Goose – 5 in fields just to the south of Castle Down, Tresco.

Eider – A drake and a female off Rushy Porth, Tresco.

Jack Snipe – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Bar-tailed Godwit – 1 on Taylor’s Island, Porthloo.

Whimbrel – 2 Pendrathen.

Sparrowhawk – 2 on Tresco.

Merlin – 1 flew from Merchant’s Point, Tresco towards Teän.

Kingfisher – 1 Old Town Bay.

Stock Dove – A flock of 45 – 50 near Pool Road, Tresco.

Grey wagtail – 1 Porthloo and 1 Lower Moors.

Black-necked Grebe – 1 mid-channel between the Golf Course and Skirt Island.

Whimbrel – 6 on toll’s Island, Pelistry.

Jack Snipe – 1 on Porth Hellick Pool.

Merlin – 1 flew through Ram’s Valley, Hugh Town.

Raven – 2 flew over Church Point heading towards Porth Hellick.

Cattle Egret – 3 with cattle in a field on Telegraph Road, near Four Lanes.

Black-throated Diver – 1 seen from McFarland’s Down looking towards Tresco.

Red-throated Diver – 1 seen from Innisidgen looking towards Tresco.

Eider – A drake and a female seen from McFarland’s Down looking towards Tresco.

Long-eared Owl – 1 calling behind a house opposite Holy Vale Vineyard which then flew off Down Holy Vale,

Black Redstart – 1 Porthloo, 1 Shark’s Pit and 1 Porth Mellon.

Surf Scoter – The 1st-winter female was still OFF Skirt Island, Tresco.

Cattle Egret – 3 still with cattle in a field on Telegraph Road, near Four Lanes.

Spoonbill – 1 on Samson.

Slavonian Grebe – 1+ seen from Innisidgen.

Red-throated Diver – 1 seen from Innisidgen.

Eider – 1 seen from Innisidgen.

Whimbrel – 9 on Toll’s Island.

Raven – 2 flew over Kittydown.
