Western Bonelli’s Warbler – The third! bird of the week found on the coastal path moving south towards Brandy Point (photo), the original bird was still in the pined behind the Cadet Hut on the Garrison (photo). 3 within 2 days in unprecedented.

Bee-eater – 1 possibly 2 over Ennor Close, Old Town.

Woodchat Shrike – The putative “Balearic” Shrike was still on Helvear. If accepted as this subspecies it will be only the fourth for Britain, of which 3 have been on Scilly.

Wilson’s Storm-petrel – 1 on a fishing/birding trip 3 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

Ortolan Bunting – 1 briefly on St. Agnes.

Great Shearwater – 1 from the Scillonian III on the sailing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

Sooty Shearwater – 1 from the Scillonian III on the sailing from Penzance to St. Mary’s and 1 on the return from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Balearic Shearwater – 1 from the Scillonian III on the sailing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.

Pectoral Sandpiper – A juvenile flew round the pool on St. Agnes before landing on Periglis Beach and then flew to Porth Hellick.

Black Tern – 3 from the Scillonian III on the return sailing from St. Mary’s to Penzance.

Osprey – 1 circled over Porth Hellick House towards Holy Vale and then west over St. Mary’s and was seen over St. Agnes (photo).

Marsh Harrier – 1 flew from Bryher to St.Mary’s.

Wryneck – 1 was seen early morning on the cruise ship “Hebridean Sky” which was moored in the Roads, 2 in Buzza Quarry, 1 in again in a garden on Church Street, High Town, 1 Burnt Hill, St. Martin’s and 1 Carn Near, Tresco.

Turtle Dove – 1 was still with the Collared Dives in a field north of “The Moos.

Great Skua – 3 on a fishing/birding trip 3 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

Yellow-legged Gull – 1 on the way out to the fishing/birding trip.

European Storm-petrel – 10 on a fishing/birding trip 3 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.

Dotterel – 1 still on Castle Down, Tresco.

Golden Plover – 12 still on Castle Down, Tresco.

Curlew Sandpiper – A juvenile on Periglis Beach, St. Agnes.

Knot – 1 St. Martin’s.

Whimbrel – 1 over Hugh Town, Harbour.

Water Rail – 2 Porth Hellick Pool.

Swift – 1 over the old Secondary School site, Hugh Town, 3 over St. Martin’s.

Common Whitethroat – 1 Burnt Hill, St. Martin’s.

Spotted Flycatcher – 3 on the Garrison, , 1 on Carn Friars Farm, 2 on Tresco, 9 on St.Martin’s and 2 on St. Agnes.

Pied Flycatcher – 1 St. Martin’s, 1 on Racket Town Road, Tresco.

Redstart – 1 in the cow field at the Old Town End of Lower Moors and 1 St. Martin’s.

Whinchat – 2 on the Garrison, 2 on Peninnis, 1 on the site of the old Secondary School, 1 in the Standing Stones Field, 1 on Carn Friars Farm, 9 on Tresco and 5 on St.Agnes.

Tree Pipit – 1 in the Standing Stones Field.

Yellow Wagtail – 1 in the Standing Stones Field, 3 on Tresco, 1 St. Martin’s and 3 on St. Agnes.

Blue Shark –1caught, tagged and released on the evening sharking/birding pelagic trip 3 miles southwest of Bishop Rock.
