Tuesday

The Spotted Sandpiper, 2 Greenshank & a Yellow Wagtail were at Porth Hellick, a Swift was over Higher Moors, a Whinchat was on the airfield and a possible Ortolan Bunting was briefly in a garden on High Lanes, where there was also a Grey Wagtail with in Lower Moors. A Garden Warbler was at Longstone, a Siskin was at Carn Friars, single Spotted Flycatchers were at Carn Friars & in Lower Moors and single Pied Flycatchers were at Longstone, the old secondary school site and on the Garrison near the sports Pavilion.

A trip to Samson produced 64 Dunlin, 4 Curlew Sandpiper, a Common Sandpiper, 3 Bar-tailed Godwit, a Black-tailed Godwit, 53 Sandwich Tern and a Hooded Crow.

Spoonbill flew over Higher Town St. Martin’s towards Tresco. Birds reported from Tresco were a Curlew Sandpiper, 2 Bar-tailed Godwit and 24 Mediterranean Gull.

Wednesday

A probable juvenile Woodchat Shrike was seen distantly on Gugh and Western Bonelli’s Warbler was near Church Quay on Bryher, also on Bryher was a Lesser Whitethroat& a Pied Flycatcher.

The Spotted Sandpiper, a Grey Wagtail, the Cetti’s Warbler & a Siskin were at Porth Hellick and an Osprey flew over Hugh Town and was subsequently seen over various other locations on St. Mary’s.

A Swift over the airfield, a Garden Warbler was at Longstone, Whinchat were at Telegraph & on the airfield, a Spotted Flycatcher was in Lower Moors, Pied Flycatcher were in Holy Vale, at Watermill and near Pelistry Stables, 3 Siskin were at Pelistry and a Crossbill flew over Old Town towards Hugh Town.
